Our Story
HeartCare & Food Outreach Foundation was founded with a deep commitment to support individuals and families impacted by heart failure and inviduals with food insecurity. Our journey began when a group of passionate advocates recognized the urgent need for comprehensive resources and assistance for those facing these challenges. Inspired by personal experiences, including that of Cory Jr., we established this foundation to provide compassionate care and support to our community.
Our Mission
At HeartCare & Food Outreach Foundation, our mission is clear: we are dedicated to providing support to individuals affected by heart failure, their caregivers, and those experiencing food insecurity. We strive to enhance the quality of life for our community members through essential resources, including financial assistance and food outreach programs.
Our Vision
We envision a community where individuals impacted by heart failure receive compassionate support, caregivers find respite, and those facing food insecurity have access to nutritious meals. Our goal is to create a network of care and empowerment that fosters holistic well-being, resilience, and hope for all individuals in need.
Cory Jr 's. Story
Cory Jr. experienced a stroke in high school during his senior year, which led to a diagnosis of heart failure. He has experienced 25-plus surgeries in his 25 years of living. In October of 2023, he faced another challenging time dealing with heart failure, ultimately undergoing open-heart surgery and receiving an LVAD- Ventricular Assist Device. Throughout his hospitalization of 40 days, Cory Jr. and his family experienced the financial strain of medical expenses, hospital stays, and the cost of food, adding to the burden during a difficult time. With the help of family and many others, he was able to make it through.
Volunteer with the Heart To Table Mobile Food Pantry, an initiative of the HeartCare & Food Outreach Foundation dedicated to fighting food insecurity. Starting June 18th, we will host monthly food distribution events where community members can receive nutritious meals and essential pantry items.
